A new season of Dancing With the Stars has begun and it has been met with some controversy when Olivia Jade, who was caught up in the college application scandal was cast, given her a shot at redemption.
It was revealed yesterday that two-time champion Val was her partner. In a backstage interview with Access, when asked how proud he is of Olivia’s performance that earned her all 7s from judges, he says, “I’m very proud. She’s exceeded my expectations.”
Then, blatantly admitted that he didn’t want to like her and enjoy her company but within the first 5 seconds, she wins you over because she’s sincere, genuine, and that you really don’t know too much about her and that she’s a good person. Now, the two are “homies” as he says she works hard, doesn’t take things too seriously and is there for the right reason.
Val is also known for being a tough teacher and there was a moment where she wanted to cry but Olivia says he was pretty sweet about it but didn’t want to see it. The professional ballroom dancer admits that he used to be harsher when seeing his partners get upset but has since relaxed as he didn’t want to cross the line between being tough and cruel.
