Dancing With the Stars premiered for its 30th season last night and the cast this round is stellar. Although judged very harshly this season and because it is the first week, you can already tell it’s going to be a tight competition. Here is how we would’ve ranked the performances:

1. Jojo Siwa – this glitter girl made her debut and history for having the first same-sex partner. She was expected to put on a great performance given her background as a child dancer on Dance Moms and did not disappoint. Jojo has a high chance of winning after this standout routine.

2. Suni Lee – With the mindset of an olympic champion and a popular TikTok star in her own right, Suni’s got the technical skills and expressions down. Perhaps a little more fluidity and relaxation would put her on the podium.

3. Olivia Jade – she may have made headlines in the past for not-so-great behaviour but her new headline as a ballroom dancer would nowhere be as bad. Plus, anyone partner with Val would have great chances of staying on top.

4. Brian Austin Green – the 91210 star does not only have great chemistry with his partner on and off stage Sharna, but he has great moves as well. We are sure he’s going to surprise everyone with future dances.

5. Jimmie Allen – the choreography was simple but you could tell he had great technique and is here to stay.

6. The Miz – this wrestler definitely blew everyone away with his dance moves and performance skills. Whether the skills are on par with the judges, one thing is for sure – he’s fun to watch.

7. Matt James – he was charismatic and showed way more personality than his time on the Bachelor. With Lindsey as his partner, Matt has got little to worry.

8. Kenya Moore – the choreography was a bit slowed down and simple but with what she was given, she proved to have great lines and a lot of grace with her movements.

9. Melanie C – Sporty Spice still got it in her 25 years after the debut of Spice Girls’s first album. She could use more fluidity in her movements but with her experience to performing in large crowds, we are sure improvements are to come.

10. Amanda Kloots – she is a beauty in the ballroom and while it wasn’t bad, it didn’t stand out either. However, with Alan as her partner, she’s got great guidance to make it far.

11. Christine Chiu – this crazy rich asian surprised everyone with her dancing skills too. She has beautiful lines but could work on being more technical in other areas as well.

12. Cody Rigsby – this fitness star had a lot of energy while dancing but was sometimes off-tempo and had awkward movements.

13. Iman Shumpert – he was way underscored with a 4 from most of the judges. The choreography was great and he was a lot of fun to watch. Sure, there are things he could work on but he blew our expectations away.

14. Melora Hardin – this boss lady proves she knows what she wants on the dance floor. However, she can be a bit off-balanced with too much attack.

15. Martin Kove – the introduction was a blast to watch but he didn’t really follow it up with much content. There’s always room for improvement though.

For night 1, there are already a lot of contenders making their presence known. Who do you think had the best dance of the night?
