By now you probably heard of the drama surrounding Olivia Rodrigo with fans thinking the song was aimed at her hurt of her ex and co-star Joshua dating Sabrina Carpenter. These speculations came mainly after she wrote the song “you’re probably with that blonde girl/ Who always made me doubt” and due to the fact that Joshua taught Olivia how to drive.
As fans and the tea spilled all over TikTok, most fans have sided with Olivia’s story and unfortunately attacked Sabrina in the process. Now, Sabrina fires back with her own song ‘Skin’ and it directly takes aim at Olivia and the drama itself. Take a listen:
In the song, the Girl Meets World star writes:
1. “maybe we could’ve been friends/ If I met you another life” addressing how this drama has broken any form of possible relationship with Olivia.
2. “Maybe “blonde” was the only rhyme / The only rhyme” referring back to the lyrics on ‘Drivers License’ that sparked the rumours.
3. “But you been tellin’ your side / So I’ll be tellin’ mine, oh” – guess she wants to take back control of her narrative
4. “You’re putting me in the spotlight / But I’ve been under it all my life” addressing the nasty comments saying that Olivia is giving Sabrina clout but she is already famous.
5. “Don’t drive yourself insane / It won’t always be this way” – this directly refers to the song but Sabrina still hopes they will mend eventually.
This is piping hot tea! Some fans think Sabrina is releasing a song in the midst of the drama to get attention and it is strictly a PR move but it does sound like she is NOT happy with the negative attention she is receiving. Meanwhile, others think Joshua will release another song from her side of the story.
