If you knew the kid you wanted to bully in first grade was going to end up being the future leader of Canada, you probably would rather be in good graces with them. Matthew Perry, best known as Chandler from Friends, unfortunately didn’t think that ahead. He admitted on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! that in the fifth grade, he and his friend beat up the future prime minister who was in first grade at the time because he was excelling in sports so it was out of pure jealousy.

Perry continued, “His dad was prime minister, but I don’t think that’s the reason we beat him up. I think he was the only kid in school we could beat up … I’m not bragging about this. This is terrible. I was a stupid kid.” Check out the hilarious interview:

It looks like Trudeau wasn’t too upset about what happened because he offered a rematch in a tweet but Perry declined, because, well…he’s now got some backup.

It looks the former bully has grown and learned from his mistakes and got a great laugh out of it now!
