It is a very sad ending for what we thought was going to be a happily ever after for Lovato and her fiancée Max Ehrich as they decided to separate just 2 months of being engaged.
Max proposed to Demi in late July and just a week ago, the Sorry Not Sorry singer was just talking about wedding plans so this separation seems really sudden.
According to sources, Demi’s mom and friends have been warning her about some red flags they were seeing and wanted her to get out sooner than later, which she did as she was the one to call off the engagement.
This separation is not without drama though as Max revealed he found the news out through tabloids, not from his ex-fiancée herself, writing on an Instagram story: “I was on the set of my new movie, Southern Gospel, with crew and cast members right next to me who literally watched me open my phone where I then opened a tabloid.”
He continued to defend himself against haters, posting, “This is the God’s honest truth of how I found out about the ending of the engagement and have people from my film who saw the whole thing go down and helped me get back into character to continue my job.”
The actor continued, “I had cast and crew with families relying on me to do my job. That being said, please end this narrative and focus on more important issues in the world. I love and forgive everyone involved. Let us be. Let us heal. God bless.”
He added, “Imagine finding out to [sic] the status of your relationship through a tabloid. While your [sic] in the middle of filming a biopic movie about a Pastor in a Christian Church whose intention of the film is to help people.”
Ehrich’s side of the story had a lot of people criticizing him for promoting his movie, and an insider even revealed that Max is lying as Demi had told him beforehand, adding that he is just trying to stay relevant.
As for the reason for their breakup? The source revealed that they had been fighting so much that Demi had to leave to get her head cleared while he went on to shoot his movie before they resolved their fight.
They explained that the two were spending everyday together in quarantine so they got to know each other well but when the real world started setting in, that’s when their problems started happening.
Demi has yet to comment on the breakup.
Either way, we are sad for these two. Hopefully they will heal soon!
