Ashley aka “bestdressed” is a popular YouTuber that specializes in fashion. She currently stands at 3.78 million subscribers! Here are 20 facts about the beauty guru:
1. She is mixed. Her father is British while her mom is Burmese (ethnically Chinese). They are both immigrants!
2. She was voted “best dressed” in high school, hence her username.
3. She has an older sister. In one of her videos, Ashley mentions her older sister would starve herself and refused to eat, even developing anorexia. We don’t know much about her older sister but it doesn’t seem like they had the closest relationship as she never posts about her family.
4. She’s from Maryland. Specifically Elliot, Maryland which is a tiny state in the East Coast.
5. She’s had her heart broken three times. Once before 19, once with David who was heavily featured in her videos, and once from a guy she met in New York.
6. Her last name is Rous. Ashley goes just by her first name but if you’re wondering – she does have a last name as well.
7. She had her first kiss at 17 with a guy at a dance. It was under pretty lights and says it was a really pretty setting.
8. Both her parents are University professors at Maryland. This may explain why Ashley is so hardworking and intelligent!
9. Speaking of her parents, they met in grad school and got engaged 6 months later! We guess when you know, you know.
10. She is bisexual. We know she has dated guys as she posted them on her YouTube channel but she also mentioned in one of her videos that she made out with a girl at a party and liked it but is still figuring herself out so hasn’t officially come out with a label.
11. She excelled in school. You may have already thought Ashley is really smart in her jokes and her self-aware analytical comments, but you may not have known that her grades were good enough for her Stanford Law. She was deciding between going to the prestigious school or UCLA Film school, but ultimately decided to pursue her passion for films. She also was able to graduate in three years which helped her save tuition and rent.
12. She used to edit for The Sorry Girls. One of Ashley’s strengths are her unique film-like editing skills. She used this to her advantage by helping Canadian DIY YouTubers The Sorry Girls edit while she was building her own channel in college. They even invited her to be in one of their videos for a thrift shopping challenge:

14. She worked a ton of jobs. Ashley is quite a jack of all trades. Before her YouTube career took off, she has worked at American Eagle, an ice cream shop, and a PR agency as far as we know.
15. She didn’t tell her parents about her YouTube channel for years because she was embarrassed of the sexual commentary or didn’t want them to keep an eye out for what she’s posting online. We haven’t gotten an update on it if she broke the news. For all we know, they still don’t know!
16. She loves Animal Crossing. Like many people, she played that game endlessly during the Pandemic.
17. She had a scary experience with a stalker. In her last video, she mentions that a stalker climbed up her stairwell in New York which was scary as she lives alone. This forced her to move to a new place.
18. She hated her college years. She mentions how miserable she was studying Film at the school that she nearly dropped out.
19. She can paint. She took Art in high school but doesn’t really have time to do it now.
20. She heavily considered moving to London, England instead of New York where she resides now. Her grandparents are from England so she actually has duo citizenship but ultimately chose New York as it was easier to start her own clothing company some day.
