After Disney Channel shows end, many actors try to hold onto their fame and jump onto different projects as soon as possible whether it be singing like Miley Cyrus or acting like Zendaya while others try to carve a more normal path for themselves by attending higher education. Bridgit Mendler is an example of that.

You may remember Mendler as Teddy Duncan from Good Luck, Charlie. After her time on the show, at around 20 years old, she studied Anthropology at the prestigious University of Southern California.

After completing her degree, she went on to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (no big deal, just ranked #1 in the world) to pursue a PhD. It is also where she met her husband, Griffin Cleverly, and they tied the knot in 2019.

If you think that’s impressive, the same year, Mendler announced via Instagram that she got accepted to Harvard Law – the same place where Barack and Michelle Obama graduated from.

If you think it is surprising for Mendler to pursue this path, it may lessen the shock for you to know that her aunt is Christine Blasey Ford, a Professor of Psychology at the Stanford University of Medicine (and also in the spotlight for claiming a sexual assault case against Brett Kavanaugh), so perhaps high academic achievements have always been woven in her genes.

Given that no previous big Disney Channel stars has ever attended an Ivey League, much less two for their PhDs and Masters, it is safe to say, that Bridgit Mendler is dubbed the smartest actor to ever come out of the Mickey Mouse Machine. We love a genius Disney star!
