Powerhouse Taylor Swift (also known to be basically “the music industry herself” according to fans) have received the honorary ‘Album of the Year’ at the 2021 Grammys for ‘Folklore’, making it her third time to hold the title after ‘Fearless’ and ‘1989’.

In her acceptance speech, she first let one of her songwriter and producer Aaron Dessner give his thanks before thanking some notable people herself. She first appreciated all her collaborators – including Justin Vernon whom she worked with virtually but have never met.

She then publicly acknowledged her long time boyfriend Joe Alwyn for the first time at an awards ceremony saying, “Joe, who is the first person I play every single song I write and um, I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine.” So sweet!

Next, she acknowledged the special people whose names she used in her song ‘Betty’, saying “I want to thank James, Inez, Betty, and their parents who are the second and third people that I play every new song that I write.” By parents, she is referring to her close friend Blake Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds. We knew Blake and Taylor are close, but didn’t know they were THAT tight!

Lastly, she thanked her fans. Taylor concluded with “But mostly we just want to thank the fans. You guys met us in this imaginary world that we created and we can’t tell you how honoured we are forever by this. Thank you so much!
