Taylor Swift was the recipient of the Global Icons award at the Brits Award on Tuesday and as a tribute, a package was put to honour the talented artist who became its first female recipient.
Some of Taylor’s close friends decided to give a shoutout in the tribute video, including long time BFF Selena Gomez. In the video, a blonde Selena says that “Taylor is the same girl I met since I was 15.”
The Rare Beauty Founder continues, “she’s generous, she’s kind, and she cares so deeply for her fans.”
And concluding with “I wish I could just be there to support you and hang out with you. You deserve it and you’re amazing.”
Taylor had great moments in her acceptance speech by first thanking the people who nominated her, her collaborators on Folklore and Evermore, and even shouted out boyfriend Joe!
The “Cardigan” singer gave a message to appreciate the people who’s always been there for you, as well as telling her fans to preserve through challenges because any task being difficult, probably means you’re trying out something new and is rising.
She concluded with giving an inspiring message that everyone has the right to share their opinions on you, but you also have the right to prove them wrong! Knowing that Taylor had to push through MANY barriers to get to where she is today – we know that this advice was something she took to heart over the years.
