Thought you were done with the Sour era? Think again! Olivia Rodrigo releases her fourth music video from her debut album ‘brutal’. This took fans by surprise as she announced the release just 10 minutes before sharing it with the world.
This is an unexpected but definitely a welcomed surprise for her fans. Check out the video:
The MV was directed by Petra Collins who also directed the “good 4 u” music video as well as Selena Gomez’s “fetish.” Petra is known to mix early 2000s aesthetics in her work with modern technology and for the message being up to interpretation. We definitely see Petra’s direction in Olivia’s work as a trendsetting aesthetic for the next few years.
‘brutal’ is one of Olivia’s most different sounding but popular songs on the album so it isn’t too much of a shock for her to choose it as a single. We wonder if this will be her final single or if she’s got more tricks up her sleeve…
