Model Chrissy Teigan is expecting her first child with husband John Legend in April. In the past, she has been opened up trying to conceive a child and successfully going in vitro fertilization. However, now, she says that not only did she go through IVF, she actually chose a female embryo as well, meaning she chose the gender of her baby to be female.

Chrissy told PEOPLE magazine, “Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.'”

A lot of controversy has been made with people telling her that she should just be happy that she can have a child. Teigan defends herself by saying she is very open minded.
