Remember Austin Mahone? The teen pop singer who we all thought was going to become the next Justin Bieber when he released singles like ‘Say Something’ and ‘Mmm Yeah’ in the early 2010s? Well he took on quite a different turn in life by recently becoming a member of OnlyFans.
If you don’t know what OnlyFans is, it’s a platform that allows users to share pictures and videos but is only available through subscription payments. It is mainly used for adult entertainment.
This has fans SHOCKED as they remember the singer from their teen years as a wholesome celebrity who hasn’t engaged in any controversy since. They, of course, did not receive the news well when he made the announcement on Instagram:
Austin hasn’t seen success in his music since he was dropped by Republic Records in 2014 after they decided he couldn’t sell enough. After that, Mahone went on to start his own record label called A.M Label and released the song “Dirty Work”. It wasn’t a huge hit but he did garner some attention in Japan and did concerts there for a while. Now, Austin has taken a completely different path and his old fans don’t seem to be on board.
Austin isn’t the first amongst celebrities to be on OnlyFans as he joins Bella Thorne, Tyga, and Cardi B. who post content as well. Celebrities being on OnlyFans have caused quite a controversy as the sex workers on the platform who are trying to make a living, especially in the midst of the Pandemic, says that celebrities who are already have more than enough are stealing the attention, and with them, their customers and income.
What do you think of Austin Mahone going from PG-13 to R-rated?
