Christmas is right around the corner and with most of us quarantined for the majority of the year, a touch of festivity in the house would really help lighten the mood. Here are ways you can make your house feel more like Christmas:
1. Put up multiple Christmas trees – this is kind of obvious but it really does lighten up the mood! Once Halloween is over, it is socially acceptable for the tree to be up. For most, there is one big tree that is the centre piece of the home but you can always put up more trees! Put a smaller one in your bedroom for example, another one in your dining area, one in your front yard! There is no such thing as too many trees!

2. Put out Christmas food – have a jar of candy canes out, gingerbread cookies, a gingerbread house, chocolate, etc.

3. Decorate the stairwell – no part of the house should be left behind, and if you live in a house, this includes the stairs! Many people put stockings or perhaps even illuminated candles on the side.

4. Get red, white, and green decor – this can be cushions, a bedding set, carpet, etc. Surround yourself with festive colours!

6. Set up Christmas trinkets all over the house – trinkets can really add that last minute touch to the overall decor. Don’t overlook them because they add a special touch that is unique to you. It is also adds little moments of joy when you notice the festivity in places you don’t expect.

7. Set up a Christmas table centrepiece – where you eat deserves to be filled with joy. Having a centrepiece can establish the tone of your dining room.

8. Create a Christmas Playlist – nothing spreads Christmas cheers than the sound of music. Make a list, set it up to your speaker, and jam out to jingles up until December 25th!
