You may have forgotten since the beginning of 2020 felt like a decade ago, but last year at this time, Bachelor nation was getting amped up for Peter Weber’s season of the Bachelor.

To jog your memory, Pilot Pete’s season was tumultuous. In summary, he fell in love with Madison who left days leading up to the proposal because of she was uncomfortable with him sleeping with other women (Hannah Ann and Victoria Fuller) in the fantasy suites due to her Christian values. As he had really no other option and didn’t want to end up alone, Peter proposed to Hannah Ann who was the only one left at that point. About two months after the proposal, the Bachelor confessed to Hannah Ann he was still in love with Madison which caused their engagement to end abruptly. Chris Harrison, being the fairy godfather figure he is, took matters into his own hands by inviting Madison back to LA so they have a chance of being together. That was short lived as in the After the Final Rose finale, Peter’s mom Barbara roasted Madison and they ended up breaking things off.

A few weeks after that, Peter shocked everyone by announcing his relationship with Kelley, who placed 6th on his season. They dated for a good 7 months, said they loved each other, Peter’s mom loved her, said this was the strongest relationship he’s ever had – even having plans to move in together in 2021. So all is well right?

Well, just as we thought there would be a happy conclusion to this ending, Peter has officially announced their breakup. In an Instagram post, he writes, “Love is a funny thing. It can make you you feel on top of the world and it can make you feel a pain you wish didn’t exist. I’m here to share that Kelley and I have decided to go our separate ways. While our relationship was filled with countless beautiful memories, our relationship simply didn’t work out in the end. Kelley is someone I will always have a special love for. Someone I have learned more from than she will ever understand. Someone I am so thankful came into my life and someone who I will always wish all of life’s greatest blessings on. These moments in life always hurt, but in my opinion that shows you it was worth the time you spent together. Thank you Kelley.”

UPDATE: Kelley has officially announced the breakup on Instagram as well

Peter has had numerous relationships in 2020, including telling 4 girls he loved them in a year (not just falling in love, he was IN love), which has to be a record of some sort in Bachelor nation. Perhaps the real reason is that he is not ready to commit and should probably take a break. Bachelor Nation in general has fell hard on romance as 5 other major couples have broke up including:

1. Kendall and Joe – they parted in January 2020 due to Joe wanting to move back to Chicago whereas Kendall wanted to stay in California.

2. Chris and Krystal – They got married in Paradise in 2019 but announced their divorce in February 2020, which makes them the first married Bachelor couple to separate. Krystal announced she is pregnant with her boyfriend in November.

3. Becca and Garrett -This past September, the former Bachelorette broke up with her final pick Garrett with what fans suspect to be because of oppositional political views.

4. Ashley and JP – This may have been one of the most shocking Bachelor breakups yet since they have been long time favourites since 2011 and fell in love on Ashley’s Season 7 of the Bachelorette. The two share two children together.

5. Carly and Evan – Being one of the strongest couples to come out of Paradise and having two toddlers, another married couple has broken up.

That makes it a total of 6 Bachelor Nation couples who have broken up! We guess quarantine does make or break couples. We wish these couples the best!
