If you’ve ever watched The Bachelor, you probably tried to put yourself in the contestants shoes wondering how long you would last on the show. While some lucky girls make it far into the season and even get engaged, the chances are stacked against you as you’ll realistically only have a 1/30 chance of making it to the end. Here are 12 reasons why I would NOT be able to last on the reality show:

1. My feet would hurt standing all night at the Rose Ceremony. What is edited down to 10 minutes on screen actually lasts 3-4 hours into the AM depending on how many contestants are left. All that in 6 inch heels? I would simply collapse.

2. I would be bored. The contestants don’t have access to their cellphones so most of them just spend the day reading or journaling if not chatting with the group. Once after hometowns, they basically are locked into a hotel room for weeks by themselves. Maybe I will just go on for the travelling part. After the free vacation – peace out!

3. I wouldn’t want to participate in challenges. The producers are known to find your biggest fears and throw you right in the middle of it so the lead can romantically help you overcome it. No thanks, I’d rather have every body part in tact instead of risking it all skydiving for a 1/30 chance of getting engaged. The odds are not in my favour.

4. I am too poor to afford all the dresses. Some girls have spent as much as $10,000 buying all the beautiful gowns to wear every week as the contestants each have to provide on their own wardrobe. This process is much easier for guys who can just re-wear suits without much notice. By week 4 I would simply eliminate myself because I have nothing to wear.

5. I would get insecure. The show seems like the worst thing you can do for you mental health. You are put into a room with some of the most glamorous women in the nation and expect to have a chance to compete for one guy’s attention? Talk about lack of self-respect!

6. I wouldn’t interrupt anyone. Imagine having to ask to steal someone away in the middle of them sharing their deep childhood traumas. I rather not. Self elimination just to avoid the awkwardness.

7. I would be cancelled for saying something stupid. The Bachelor has some of the most toxic fanbase and also some of the dumbest viewers. A simple editing chop can easily take my words out of context and have me unemployed for the next 5 – 10 years. It’s sometimes based on luck on this show.

8. I would be there for the wrong reasons. My reason for being cancelled would either be because I want free vacations, to be on Bachelor in Paradise, the bachelorette, and for clout. I mean, you’d be lying if you didn’t think about the possible life altering opportunities after the show ends!

9. I don’t want them to meet my family. They would simply embarrass me and I would have 0 control over what they say. And then for everyone over analyze your interactions? They would probably disown me for staining the family name.

10. The environment can be toxic. The Bachelor casts some of the cattiest women in the nation with big personalities because they need drama. And rarely anyone sticks up to the mean girls. Just look at Matt James’s season! It’d be like high school, but worse.

11. I would be there just to make friends. There is only one guy and 30 girls. It is very unlikely I will even find them attractive in the first place, let alone be compatible, and want to spend the rest of my life with them?? If anything, I have 30x more chances of making life long friends.

12. Lastly, I would be PISSED seeing the guy I’m dating making out with 20 other girls. And then have them talk about it in detail and act happy for them? It would just be weeks filled with jealousy, anger, and tears. No thank-you!
