BLACKPINK’s highly anticipated album, rightfully called ‘The Album‘ is finally out! And to no one’s surprise, all the songs are top tier good! That being said, some songs did stick out more than others. Here is how they ranked:
8. Lovesick Girls
Before creating a fuss – hear me out. We are not bashing their latest single but it does lack that edge we are use to. This doesn’t mean the song is bad, it just means that the rest of the album gets even better!
7. Love To Hate Me
A message to their haters…if there even are any! The girls lets us know that they got the goods! It is edgy, but perhaps not unique enough to be their best.
6. Ice Cream with Selena Gomez
This gimmicky song is cute, sassy, and of course, sweet. Not to mention how Selena’s vocal and style blends in perfectly.
5. How You Like That
Being the first song on the album and the darkest one, it sure made an impression! We would have loved more vocal range and a contrasting beat but nevertheless, it gave us an epic music video.
4. Bet You Wanna ft. Cardi B
It is upbeat, sassy, and super catchy! What’s not to love? Who knew Cardi B. would blend in so well?
3. Crazy Over You
Raps are SOLID. It’s such a salty song but we vibe with it!
2. You Never Know
This album ends with this heartfelt song that gives us a powerful rush of emotion for when we are feeling vulnerable. It sends a good message reminding everyone to practice empathy.
1. Pretty Savage
This song embodies the essence of BLACKPINK at their best. It’s got swag. It’s sexy. It’s catchy, with every beat on point. Not to mention, all the girls get a rap verse?! Jisoo also FINALLY gets to say the iconic “BLACKPINK in your area” line. Plus this is Lisa’s favourite song on the album!
