Olivia Rodrigo debuted her first virtual concert. As she has never been to a prom dance of her own, she created her own prom-themed cinematic universe filled with filled with limo entrances, choreographed numbers, and a marching band. From the looks of this dance party, we’d say her prom night was much better than any of ours! Here are some of the best moments from the night:
The girl looks STUNNING! From her dress, to jewellery, to hair, to makeup – imma need her stylist.
The attention to detail is very much appreciated. You can see the license plate say “drive safely” with a sticker underneath that reads her lyrics “driving home to you.” Plus, we see “sour hour” featured as the title on the radio.
Olivia singing “deja vu” x “happier” mashup plus lines from “drivers license”, “brutal”, and “jealousy jealousy” all at once. My new favourite track is…all of them.
Her IRL best friends being at prom with her. Peep Madison Hu and Conan Gray at the back.
Can we take a minute to discuss the the overall aesthetic. Talk about giving a WOW factor. Olivia and her team are master at crafting a 90S aesthetic that is both trendy and nostalgic at the same time.
The choreography during “traitor” is so intriguing to watch. It’s so theatrical – I love it! Reminds me of a very dark version of High School Musical.
The acoustic guitar performance of “enough for you” in the dark photography room gives 13 Reasons Why vibes. The show also has very dark themes similar to Sour so. we guess it was a very fitting set.
The clapping during “drivers license” really adds to the song. It’s going to be a thing in her actual live concert.
Love her psycho expressions in “good 4 u”
The marching bands reminds me of Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” music video.
The whole performance felt like a Super Bowl halftime show. Foreshadowing perhaps?
All we can say is…well done! If this is anything like her actual concert, it will definitely be worth attending!
