Valentine’s Day is coming up (or as many people like to call it – single awareness day)!
Whether you are single or not, Valentine DIYs are always fun to make! Here are some simple DIYs:
1. Framed I <3 You Letters. This requires you to hand write out the alphabet in bubble letters. Use the format as shown below, 5 letters in each row. Use black ink, and once you get to the I, O, and U, use red. For the letter O, draw a heart instead. It is also important to draw it on a piece of paper that will fit a picture frame nicely.
2. A cute card. This one is super simple. All you need is 7 different colours of paper and cut out one heart in each colour. Then grab a red string, cut it about 3 quarters the length of your card and stick it in the center. Next, start gluing your hearts – start gluing from the top and work your way down. Make sure the hearts overlap each other!
3. 52 Reasons Why I Love You. This one can be made for your boyfriend, family or friends. You will need a brand new set of regular playing cards (excluding jokers). First, hole punch a hole at the top right hand corner. Make sure you punch the hole in the exact same place for all 52 deck of cards. You can achieve this by first hole punching 5 cards at a time. Then take one of the card you already hole punched and grab 4 other cards underneath and hole punched these cards again. Once all the cards are hole punched, you can write (or cut out) 52 reasons why I love you on the back side of the card. Then you think of 52 reasons why you love this person and write it on the other cards. Finally, cut out a ribbon, loop it through the hole, and tie a bow. Your receiver would greatly appreciate this thoughtful gift for sure!
4. Heart Attack in a box. This idea is similar to the previous craft. First you will need a box. Then, in the box, fill up as many cut out paper heart shapes as you would like (the more the better). On the hearts, write reasons why you love this special person. After, cut out 4 bigger heart shapes about the size of one side of the box (4 pink, one white). On the white heart, write out the recipient’s address like how you would in an envelope (in the middle) and your address and name in the top left hand corner. Seal the box, and you can either choose to mail it or give it to the person by hand.
5. Wrapping your present. So now you made your DIYs and you want a cute way to wrap it…First in a box, wrap or paint the box in any bright Valentine colour (red, pink, purple.etc). Next, get a nude shade of wrapping paper (brown, white, beige, etc). Cut half the side of a heart – be careful not to cut this piece out. Now that you made a flap, bend it over so it stick out. Wrap the paper around your box and voila – you have an interestingly wrapped Valentine’s day box!
